Christmas Party Lunch or Dinner

The Lion Room

Leave the office behind and join us for one of our afternoon lunch parties, the ideal option for those of you who want to celebrate during the day. The bar will open from 12 noon and lunch will be served from 12.30pm to 6.30pm.

Adam Ballroom

Our Christmas Party nights are guaranteed to offer a great night of entertainment, regardless of your party size. The night will start in the bar from 6.30pm, with a 3 course dinner served at 7.00pm. Then dance the night away as our disco entertains you until late into the evening.

24th December

Arrive for 3 nights of festive wonder. Enjoy a glass of Champagne and Canapés before dining in The Hayward Restaurant.

25th December

On Christmas Day, the day starts with a traditional Full English Breakfast using fresh local produce; home-cured bacon sausages and fresh farm eggs. Relax in our Tapestry Lounge and watch the Queen’s speech or venture out and explore all of Shrewsbury’s historic shuts and passages.
Enjoy a gastronomic Christmas lunch at The Hayward Restaurant from 12.30pm, and round off your day with a choice from our Light Bites menu. Coffee or tea and mince pies will be served in the Tapestry Lounge into the evening.

26th December

Your day starts with a traditional Full English Breakfast. Relax as you wish in our Tapestry Lounge, take a leisurely walk along the river or explore the Quarry and Dingle.

Note: Pantomime tickets for the 24th or 26th December can be provided at £15 each (subject to availability.) Price includes 3 nights stay based on 2 adults sharing a twin or double room. Suites and Executive Rooms available on request.

New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner

Arrive at leisure from 2.00pm and prepare yourself for a truly wonderful occasion at The Lion Hotel, seeing in the New Year in style.

The Gala Dinner Dance evening begins with a Champagne Reception and Canapés being served from 7.00pm in the Tapestry Lounge.

At 8.00pm, you are called to take your seats in the 18th Century Listed Adam Style Ballroom with its ornate walls, beautiful ceiling and chandeliers.

Prepare your dancing shoes, as a disco will entertain you after your dinner and the New Year Party atmosphere will go on into the early hours of the morning with the disco playing until 2.00am.

On New Year’s Day, brunch will be served 9.00am - 11.00am before departing for home.
